Cedartown Christmas tree contest guidelines

-

· Each entry must submit a completed registrati­on form and receive an assigned location before a tree can be displayed.

· Trees are to be placed between Monday, November 21 and Monday, November 28th.

· Trees cannot block sidewalks or extend into the street.

· Any sign used must be no larger than 8 ½ x 11 inches.

· Decoration­s for the trees must be durable and able to stand up to sun, wind and rain.

· All ornamentat­ion and lighting should be securely attached.

· If your Christmas tree is to be decorated with electrical lights, an extension cord will have to be used from the tree to the nearest electrical outlet. Extension cords must be taped to the sidewalk with duct tape for pedestrian safety.

· Entry contacts are responsibl­e for keeping their tree in good viewing and picture taking condition from set-up until take-down day. We reserve the right to remove any entries that do not maintain their ability to be displayed. · All trees must be removed by Jan. 1, 2017. · The announceme­nt of winners will take place by Dec. 14, 2016, via: email to entry contacts and Downtown Cedartown Associatio­n Facebook page. On Wednesday, Dec. 14, the winners will be listed in an article published in the The Polk County Standard Journal’s Dec. 21 edition.
