Cedartown cheer wins third region championship
Cedartown's competition cheer squad cleared the way for a chance at the state title again this year after taking a big win in the region and head to Columbus to perform on Saturday.
The Lady Bulldogs mark this as their third region championship in a row as they pulled off "the most solid and outstanding performance the cheerleaders have execuited on the mats thus far this season," said head coach Brigitte Tillery.
" The squad evaluated all six invitational competition score sheets and analyzed the areas of weakness and concentrated on those areas at practice all week in the field house and they saw improvements in all areas," she said. "Partner stunts was the lowest score overall this season, and on Saturday the squad earned a perfect score of 10 of 10 form
one judge in the area of partner stunts."
Tillery added "as the girls were performing their routine, I knew this was the best of the season and I felt like they has achieved success with the awesome performance and sure enough when winners were announce we had earned first place with our powerful performance full of high level skills”.
Coach Jennifer Ruff also said that “we were so proud that they had once again worked hard enough to earn a Region Championship. They are a talented group of athletes to coach and they work harder and perform better week after week."
