LMO hosts fundraiser dessert
Life Matters Outreach, also known as LMO Pregnancy Care Center in Cedartown, held its first fund-raising dessert and coffee event on Oct. 27, with the theme "Each ONE Has a Story."
The event was a huge success thanks due in part to the program participants which included Andrew Carter, City Commissioner who served as Emcee of the event. Guest speaker Bob Foust entertained guest as he spoke of being a hero. He himself is a hero having assisted in founding 48 Pregnancy Centers like LMO. Rhonda Chatman performed the Invocation and Jeff Truitt performed the Benediction. Justin Carter provided special music.
Rhonda Heuer, Board Chairman, introduced LMO's new Executive Director, Vicki Jackson. Vicki previously directed a Pregnancy Medical clinic for over 6 years and shared LMO's vision of medical conversion with the audience. LMO Pregnancy Care Center has the goal of offering ultrasound services to their clients in the near future. Many women experiencing unplanned pregnancies are not aware that there is education about life affirming options to abortion and free resources available through Pregnancy Centers such as LMO.
Life Matters Outreach seeks to minister to women experiencing unplanned pregnancies and educate about the effects of abortion. The number of abortions now exceeds 58,000,000 in our nation and LMO is saving lives from abortion through their free services. Each life does have a story to tell. Psalm 139:13 states that God created each individual intricately in the womb. A Challenge Coin was presented to each guest that symbolized their membership of an elite group of life savers as they partner with LMO.
Heather Blackmon, on staff with Vicki at the center, shared about the parenting program at LMO and how it is equipping women and men with parenting skills. Heather also shared about the future of the "Blessings Boutique" and how everyone can contribute to this valuable resource to the community. This boutique will provide newborn clothing and baby necessities to attendees of the parenting classes. Two clients told their stories of how the services of the center made a positive impact in their lives.
