Mrs. Bishop

Mrs. Janet Bishop, age 54 of Buchanan, and formerly of Rockmart passed away Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2016 in a Buchanan nursing center following a lengthy illness.

She was born in Cedartown on March 18, 1962, a daughter of the late Dennis F. Roberts and Ester Spearman Roberts.

Mrs. Bishop had lived the greater part of her life in Polk County where she was a graduate of Cedartown High School.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Euharlee Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her father, Dennis F. Roberts and a son Tony Bishop Jr.

She is survived by her two children: D.J.(Jocelyn) Bishop, Windsor, Mo., and Anna (Cody) Bishop, Dallas; two grandchild­ren: Connor Bishop and Bentley Bishop; mother, Ester Roberts, Cedartown; two brothers: Clark Roberts, Cedartown and John Roberts, Cedartown; a number of nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 12, 2016 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the Alvis Miller and Son Funeral Home with Rev. Ben Clements officiatin­g. Interment followed in Northview Cemetery. Pallbearer­s included: Clark Bishop, John Bishop, D.J. Bishop, Cody Holmes and Jacob Clements.

The Alvis Miller and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangemen­ts for Mrs. Janet Bishop. daughter of the late James Cornelious “Buddy” and Bessie Mae McKibben Atkins.

Mrs. Pursley is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Ann Nation and Major Battle and nephew, Ron Mauseth.

Mrs. Pursley was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Willard Pursley.

In keeping with Mrs. Pursley’s wishes, she was cremated. A private memorial service will be held at a later time.
