Mrs. Bailey

Mrs. Ann Bailey, age 85, of Cedartown, passed away on Thursday night, Nov. 17, 2016 following an extended illness.

Mrs. Bailey was born on Feb. 2, 1931 in Biddeford, Maine, to her parents, the late Leland Blake and Mary Jane MacQuarrie Blake.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a sister, Thelma LaVoie. Mrs. Bailey was a member of the Lindsay Chapel United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her loving family, her husband, Mr. John Bailey; her sons, Stephen Bailey and Gary Bailey; her daughters and sons in law, Dani and Dudley Horton, Diana and Michael Misud and Dori Bailey; fifteen grandchild­ren, numerous great-grandchild­ren, nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Ann Bailey were conducted on Sunday afternoon, Nov. 20, 2016 at 4 p.m. from the Chapel of the Lester C. Litesey Funeral Home with the Rev. Kenneth Kulp officiatin­g.

Interment followed in the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia at a later date. The family will receive friends on Saturday afternoon, Nov. 19, 2016 at the Lester C. Litesey Funeral Home.

The family has respectful­ly requested to please omit flowers and make memorial contributi­ons in Mrs. Bailey’s memory to: Lindsay Chapel United Methodist Church of Cedartown.

The Lester C. Litesey Funeral Home of Cedartown was in charge of the arrangemen­ts for Mrs. Ann Bailey Alabama, a son of the late John W. Anderson and Mollie Sue Turner Anderson.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two brothers, John T. Anderson and James H. Anderson, and his beloved wife, Mrs. Ruby Irene Carnes Anderson.

He was retired from the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company following 28 years of dedicated service. He was a longtime member of the New Etna Baptist Church.

Mr. Anderson is survived by his loving family, his daughters and son in law, Theresa and Randy Womack and Erica Shelley; his sisters and brother in law, Charlotte and Edgar Tant and Gail Boling; his grandchild­ren, Nathan Womack and Danielle Guy, Madison Strickland, Allison Shelley and Breanne Shelley; a number of nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Verbon Garfield Anderson were conducted on Sunday afternoon, Nov. 20, 2016 at 2 p.m. from the Chapel of the Lester C. Litesey Funeral Home with the Rev. Billy Thomas, the Rev. Sammy Pointer and the Rev. Randy Meeker officiatin­g. Interment followed in the Northview Cemetery. The family received friends on Saturday evening, Nov. 19, 2016 at the Lester C. Litesey Funeral Home.

The following gentlemen were asked to serve as pallbearer­s: Wade Boling, Kevin Mason, Austin Dentmon, Tyler Swindell, Larry Gore and Terry Dentmon. Honorary Pallbearer­s included: Todd Cochran, Bunyan Carnes, Bobby Carnes, Boyd Carnes, Michael Mason and Edgar Tant.
