Mrs. Mary Jo Crabb McCollum, age 95 of Savannah, and formerly of Rockmart passed away Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2016.

Mrs. McCollum was born May 10, 1921 in Polk County, daughter of the late William “Dee” Crabb and the late Loomas Williams Crabb.

She was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church and for many years was employed by the Cedar Valley Nursing and Rehab of Cedartown.

Due to declining health, she moved to Savannah in 2008 to be closer to her son.

Mrs. McCollum was preceded in death by her husbands, Arnold C. Hooper and Thomas “Dave” McCollum; daughter, Patricia Wilson; and eight siblings.

Survivors included a son, James “Bill” Hooper of Savannah; four sisters, Margaret Barber of Cedartown, Joan Wilson and Marie Rudeseal of the Fish Creek Community and Annie L. Hardin of Rome; five grandchild­ren and six great-grandchild­ren also survived.

Funeral services for Mrs. McCollum were held on Friday, Nov. 18, 2016 at 12 noon in the chapel of the Freeman Harris Funeral Home with Rev. Greg Robinson officiatin­g.

Interment services followed in the family lot of the Northview Cemetery of Cedartown.

The following gentlemen served as pallbearer­s: Paul Barber, David Wilson, Perry Wilson, Greg Wilson, Floyd Barber and Brandon Arnold.
