Piedmont Avenue Baptist Church in Rockmart will be hosting Photos with Santa on Saturday, Dec. 3 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. $25 per session, and parents receive a CD of the photos. All money will go to the Brotherhood building fund. Pets, children and adults are welcome! Piedmont Ave. Baptist Church is located at 622 Piedmont Ave., Rockmart.

The Christmas Open House is coming up in downtown Cedartown on Saturday Dec. 3 and Sunday, Dec. 4 as the holiday shopping season gets underway locally. Cedartown Supper Club is set to meet on the fourth of November at 6:30 p.m. at the Cedartown Seventh-day Adventist Church, located at 71 Woodall Road.
Enjoy a vegetarian supper and participate in a lecture on healthy living. Free and for all ages. Supper clubs are every month on the second and fourth Tuesday. Each evening provides a different menu and lecture topic.

Rockmart American Legion Post 12 has announced the following:
New members ( Legion and Auxiliary) are invited to attend the regular meeting and dinner at 7 p.m. each second Tuesday.
The public is invited to all you can eat spaghetti dinner from 5:30 to 8 p.m. the third Tuesday of each month. The Legion Riders gather for a meeting and dinner at 7 p.m. each fourth Tuesday.
The annual Legion Riders steak dinner is scheduled on Dec. 10 with a New Year’s Eve Party scheduled on Dec. 31. The public is invited and tickets are available at Post 12.

The Sit N' Stitch craft group meets each Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall at Rockmart First United Methodist Church, 135 West Church Street, Rockmart, Ga., 30153.
All crafters are welcome to come and work on your own pro-jects or help out with various local mission projects, as they become needed. Bring a sack lunch or just come when you want and leave as you need to.

On Nov. 1, 2016, Tallatoona CAP began accepting appointments for the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) for Senior Households 65 and older and Homebound Households.
Appointments for the General Public will be accepted beginning Dec. 1, 2016. Appointments are provided on a first come first served basis until funds are exhausted.
Polk County residents who qualify will receive either $310.00 or $350.00 toward their heating bill (heating source).

Polk / Haralson Christian Life Center ( Camp Antioch) continues fall schedule of events for adults and children. If you would like to make a reservation for your group to use the camp, email cutlog@ bellsouth.net. Events include the B. A. S. I. C. Community Youth Choir which meets on the first and third Saturdays of the month from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., Community Children’s Music Club and the Student Study Center on Mondays and Tuesdays from 4:30 to 6 p.m.
Soup and “Savior”, a local non-profit organization, meets from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesdays to provide needed items to deserving people. This includes a free meal (soup), clothing and gives other assistance. Meetings are held at Glad Tidings, located at 703 Robert L Parks Blvd in Cedartown. Donations are accepted.
“Revival Fire” is the title of a presentation by Charles G. Garrett, which is featured on Charter Channel 181 at 9 p.m. every Sunday night. He said this is his 17th year in Polk County.
