Tractor Supply coming to Cedartown
Good news for Cedartown residents: a new store is coming on Highway 27 as the first step in the process by going before the Cedartown Development Authority.
During the October State of the Community address for 2016, Commission chair Larry Odom announced Tractor Supply Company were in the process of coming to Cedartown.
This first step, which required approval from the Development Authority with only a three-member quorum to approve a measure to take the property developers are using for the new site to set it to PD-2 under a planned unit development.
The 19,000 square foot store with 93 parking spaces is the typical stize for a development by Tractor Supply Company, said Mark Renier of Trinity and Associates, who is handling the new store construction.
He said after the permitting process is finished, the consturction project can begin and is expected to get underway sometime in Spring 2017.
Cedartown city manager Bill Fann said during the meeting this was a process which he is glad to see get underway.
“The commission has been aksing me about this project for the past two months, so I’m glad they’ll be able to soon be able to approve the new zoning designation needed,” Fann said.
Fall added that City Commissioners will be able to give their approval to the project during the Dec. 12 commission meeting.
The property where the new store will sit is right next to the already existing shopping center with Home Depot as the primary store.
