Victory Baptist Church will be having a Spring and Summer Consignmen­t Sale to benefit their Stockings of Love Ministry this Friday, March 24 from 4 to 9 p.m., and Saturday, March 25 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Items will include clothing, toys, games, electronic­s, bedding, books and small furniture.

The Polk County Historical Society’s upcoming meeting is being held at the Hawkes Library at 7 p.m. on March 28. The public is invited to share in the Marietta St. United Methodist Church’s annual Spring Revival beginning Tuesday, March 28 through Thursday, March 30, 7 p.m. nightly. Guest speakers include Rev. Mattylyn Hubbard of New Hope United Methodist Church, Rev. Khyril Rogers of St. Luke’s Baptist Church and Rev. Robert Barrett of the Summervill­e parish. This year’s theme is “Walk in the Light.” The church is located on Robert. L. Park Boulevard, Cedartown.

The Cedartown Performing Arts Center will be hosting Georgia’s first daughter Katie Deal on April 8 as she brings a selection of Patsy Cline classics to the stage in “Today, Tomorrow and Forever: A Tribute to Patsy Cline.” Tickets range from $20 to $25 depending on seating choices. The City of Aragon is celebratin­g Georgia Cities Week, and included in the week of events is a Photograph­y contest. Photos are being accepted for the contest for any age, so long as it pertains to a City of Aragon theme and hasn’t been previously published. All photos must be 8x10 inches, and entries must include a name, address and contact number. All entries are due by April 14, 2017 at 2 p.m. at City Hall. Photos will be judged by staff and narrowed down to two entries, which will be picked by the Aragon City Council on April 20, when a winner will be announced.

The Polk County Chamber of Commerce is now accepting applicatio­ns for vendors for the 2017 Homespun Festival happening on July 21 and 22 in Rockmart. Costs vary for vendors, but those seeking to bring arts and crafts to Homespun are charged $115 for a vendor fee. The deadline to apply is April 30. The annual Cedartown Community Easter Egg Hunt put on by the Cedartown Junior Service League is coming up on Sunday, April 9, at 2 p.m. in Peek Park in Cedartown. Candy, coloring, snacks and family fun for children ages 0-12 are planned for the free day afternoon in the park on Palm Sunday.

Good Friday services are being held for Community Fellowship North on Friday, April 14 from 7 to 9 p.m. in Seaborn Jones Memorial Park in downtown Rockmart. The next dinner at American Legion Post 12 will be on April 19, 2017. Meal is spaghetti, meatballs, garlic toast and salad, $5 for all you can eat from 5 to 7 p.m. This month the post will also begin Trivia night with the meal, starting at 6 p. m. Cedartown First United Methodist Church is offering a book study entitled: “Restored - Finding Redemption In Our Mess,” a new book s t udy by Tom Berlin. The Cruzin’ Caleb Benefit Ride is coming up on April 1 with registrati­on starting at 11 a.m. for a ride, which includes fun for kids, lunch and raffles at the event’s launch point at 599 Second Street, Cedartown. Live music from Whiskey Dixie from 2 to 4 p.m. Riders are $20, passengers $5 and vehicles who want to follow along pay $10. Hosted by the American Cruisers Chapter 47. Victory Baptist Church will open a Bread of Life Food Pantry on April 17. Pre-assembled bags of groceries will be handed out to those in need free of charge (ID required). There’s a limit of 1 bag per person per week. Regular hours of operation for the pantry will be Mondays, 1 to 3 p.m., Tuesdays, 5 to 7 p.m. and Thursdays, 8 to 10 a.m.

The City of Aragon will be hosting a citywide cleanup between April 26 and April 29 for Georgia Cities Week. Bring old trash including fur- niture, appliances, electronic­s or anything that needs to be disposed. NO TIRES WILL BE ACCEPTED. Aragon residents will need to provide an ID to drop off trash. Aragon Children’s Day is coming up on June 3 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Aragon Mill Pond. Fishing, games, goat hunt, prizes, food and more will be part of the day. Victory Baptist Church will be have a Car and Truck Show and Bike Ride on Saturday, April 22 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Registrati­on begins at 9 a.m. The cost to enter is $20 but the event is free. All proceeds will benefit the Stockings of Love Ministry which helps children in Polk County year-round.

Celebrate Recovery continues to meet in the First Baptist Church of Rockmart, 311 E. Elm St., Monday nights with dinner at 6 p.m. A large group gathers at 7 p.m. and small share group at 8 p.m.
