Lady Jackets are sitting at 2nd place in region soccer

- SJ Sports Correspondent

Rockmart’s soccer teams are showing mixed results, with the Lady Jackets picking up wins while the boys are still struggling to get their shots to land in the net and pick up wins themselves.

Bad news for the boys, but good news for the Lady Jackets.

They were able to get their win in for the night of March 21 over Gordon Central.

Rockmart won 5-1 over the Lady War- riors due to good control of the ball and passing it up field when opportunity struck. Brittany Sherfessee scored a pair of goals, followed by Ashlyn Jay with a pair of goals of her own Madison Bozydaj with the final score to finish off the game.

“The girls are playing exactly how we want them to play,” said coach Michael Bozydaj after the March 21 match. “They are magically moving the ball down the field just how we want it.”

It didn’t go exactly as planned for the Lady Jackets later in the week.
