- Editor

The Cedartown Bulldogs are looking to keep in the hunt for the state playoffs amid a tough Region 5-AAAA schedule in the days ahead as they sit so far with a 4-2 record against area schools.

The Bulldogs got there by picking up a pair of late week wins on March 23 over Sandy Creek 13-4, and on March 24 at Chapel Hill 8-7.

Cedartown gave up a pair of runs in the fourth and sixth innings to Sandy Creek, but put up runs in all but the fifth inning to secure the win.

Cedartown fell on the road to Cartersville earlier last week on March 21 in a 4-3 loss to the Purple Hurricanes.

Looking ahead, t he Bulldogs get a brief break for a week and will get back to the baseball diamond on April 6 playing at Darlington, followed by a trip to Arabia Mountain on April 8, and getting back into region play at Central Carroll on April 11.
