Farm Bureau hosts legislative breakfast
Local farm leadership got a chance to hear from aides to national legislators and state representatives during a breakfast held earlier this morning at the Polk County Farm Bureau.
The legislative breakfast held at the Farm Bureau office included opportunities to hear about a variety of issues happening in the State Capitol up to the national level impacting local farmers, and chief among them was rural high speed internet access for local families who live far afield from cities that have the connectivity they desire, but can’t get for a variety of reasons.
State Rep. Trey Kelley, State Sen. Bill Heath, Ryan Pelfrey from U.S. Senator Johnny Isakson’s local office, Drew Ferguson from Congressman Tom Graves’ office, and Alex Bradford from Georgia Farm Bureau Legislative Department were all involved in updating those attending the breakfast on issues that were passed and needed to be handled, according to Farm Bureau office manager Sue Cuzzort.
