Rockmart band hosts car show fundraiser on campus

- SJ Correspondent

The Rockmart High School band took over the parking lot on the campus in past weeks for a car, bike, and truck show as a fundraiser for new uniforms and equipment.

Custom vehicles were lined up in competition to see who won the best in their category and who walked away with a trophy.

There were also cake walks, face painting, and raffles to help collect the needed money.

“The band has a problem, but its a good problem. Our band is growing at a fast rate and we need support,” said Maria Nor- ris who helped organized the event. “This is our second time doing this and all proceeds help go towards new uniforms and new instruments.”

The students apart of band came in and worked some of these events and was thrilled to see all the collector cars. Ethan Gober who was apart of the crew thought it was a great experience.

“its really cool because you get to meet a lot of people who spent a lot of time on these cool cars.” said Gober. “Most these guys come from far away so it means a lot for them to come and to see people with matching shirts and people who participate in shows regular just makes it even more fun.”
