CHS students win awards in debate competition in Japan
Students from Cedartown High School once again take part in an international debate competition in Japan in the past weeks, this year with Kelsey Ivey, Nathan Garner and Kayla Greenaway bringing only a few meetings worth of debate prep to the topic of social media against international teams.
Garner also brought home the title of “Future Peace Ambassador” from the competition held in Saitama, Japan, at the 2017 Parliamentary Debate and World Congress.
The trio of students got to spend a week in the country with their chaperones and Cedartown High School teachers Jennifer Cupp and Holly Robinson.
They were recognized for their awards during a Polk County Board of Education meeting earlier this year in March.
