In keeping with the wishes of the deceased, she was cremated following the viewing and visitation on Thursday evening.

Mr. Chastain

Mr. Scotty Chastain, age 58, of Texas and formerly of Cedartown and Polk County, passed away peacefully in Memphis, Texas, near his loving daughter, Jamie on Wednesday morning, May 17, 2017,

He was born on July 16, 1958 in Cedartown.

Mr. Chastain was proud to be a member of a large family of siblings. Having strong spiritual beliefs and being of the Pentecosta­l faith, Scotty’s desire was to serve his fellow man.

A longtime servant in the funeral industry, he went on to establish Chastain’s Profession­al Services, a company which provided much needed secondary support to funeral directors, coroner’s and forensic specialist­s across the southeaste­rn United States.

From death calls, to pick up and removals, to airport and Crime Lab trips and even Embalming services, Mr. Chastain built his dream, that being his own business and one that helped the very people that he served.

He is survived by his loving daughter, Jamie Chastain; a great number of loving siblings, nieces, nephews and a huge number of friends and profession­al colleagues.

A Memorial Service for Mr. Scotty Chastain was conducted on Monday morning, May 22, 2017 at 10 a.m. from the Memphis United Pentecosta­l Church in Memphis, Texas.

A Graveside and Interment service will be held in the Chastain family lot in Cedartown at a later date and time.

Mr. Alexander

Mr. Bobby Eugene Alexander age 84 of Cedartown, passed away Monday, May 15, 2017.

He was born Nov. 30, 1932 in Cedartown to the late Luther Clyde and Dera Jane Burham Alexander.

Mr. Alexander was a member of the Union Grove Baptist Church.

He also served on the Cedartown City Commission for 32 years and was chairman for the board six times. He served as a member of the Polk County Health Board, chairman for 26 years for the Cedartown Christmas Parade, Life Member of the Cedartown Optimist Club, and member of the Relay for life to fight cancer.

Mr. Alexander was employed as a funeral director and general manager at Lester Litesey Funeral home for over 40 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother J. W. Alexander.

Surviving are his wife Joanne Ledbetter Alexander, Daughter and Son in law Cindy and Terry McKelvey, his granddaugh­ter Madison McKelvey, and his brother Larry Alexander, and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Bobby Eugene Alexander were conducted Wednesday May 17, 2017 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of the Lester Litesey Funeral Home, with Rev. Danny Tucker officiatin­g.

Interment followed in the North View Cemetery with Rev. Joey Martin.

Pallbearer­s were Trey Litesey, Tony Brazier, Brad Shelton, Sonny Alexander, Frank Hilyer and John Bedford.

Honorary Pallbearer­s were members of the Cedartown Optimist Club and the Employees of the City of Cedartown.

Mr. Woods

Mr. Jerry Wayne Woods, age 66 of Pell City, Ala., passed away on Monday, May 15, 2017.

He was born on Oct. 14, 1950, the son of the late Charlie and Clara Woods.

Mr. Woods is survived by his wife, Diana Woods; daughters, Jada Wane (Doug) Brownfield and Eva (Mark) Hildebrant; son, Jarod L. Woods; grandchild­ren, Paige Brownfield, Anna Brownfield, Clayton Hildebrant, Collin Hildebrant and Garrison Hildebrant; brothers, Roy (Carol) Woods, Douglas (Bessie) Woods, Frankie (Susan) Woods and sisters, Charlotte Kilgore and Sandra (Eddie) Goss.

Mr. Woods is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Ray Woods.

A graveside service for Mr. Jerry Wayne Woods was conducted on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at 1 p.m. in the Polk Memory Gardens Cemetery with Rev. Wayne Benefield officiatin­g and Mr. Ken Woods giving the eulogy.

Full Military Rites were conducted by the Brewster- Cleveland American Legion Honor Guard Post #86.

The family of Mr. Woods will receive f amily and f riends on Wednesday evening, May 17, 2017 at Kilgroe Funeral Home, 2219 Second Avenue, Pell City, Ala., 35125.

Mrs. Millican

Mrs. Rebecca (Becky) Millican, age 67, of Cedartown, Georgia, passed away Saturday, May 13, 2017 following an extended illness.

Mrs. Millican was born on Oct. 25, 1949 in Cedartown to the late Jesse and Ruby Weaver Clements.

She was retired from Allstate Insurance Company after more than 30 years of distinguis­hed service.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brother-in-law Jerry Bowen.

Surviving are, her loving husband of 28 years, Mr. Kent Millican, her children Shay Harrell and Jolee Harrell Gray, her daughter-inlaw Tina Harrell, her son-in-law Davy Gray, her sister, Barbara Bowen, her Grandchild­ren, Ben and Zella Harrell, Ramplee Colbert, and Bex Gray.

A memorial service for Mrs. Millican was conducted on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at 5 p.m. from the Sanctuary of First Baptist Church, Cedartown, with Dr. David Taylor and the Rev. Wayne Benefield officiatin­g.

Matt Weaver delivered the eulogy. The Family received friends prior to the memorial service.

Mr. Holley

Mr. Marion Olin Holley, 76, of Rockmart, passed away suddenly Monday, May 8, 2017 at his residence.

He was born in Rockmart, on Oct. 11, 1940, a son of the late Adam Hilton Holley Sr. and the late Rosie Cole Holley.

Mr. Holley had lived the greater part of his life in Rockmart where he was a 1959 graduate of Rockmart High School excelling in athletics.

He was a veteran of the United States Army where he served as an aircraft mechanic. After leaving the military, he worked for Hangar One in the Atlanta area followed by employment with Rome Plow Company and Murata.

He loved to farm and for several years operated Holley Hay Farm. He enjoyed gardening, attending auctions, eating out where he could socialize with friends, and spend time with his grandchild­ren and great grandchild­ren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Gail Howell Holley in 1987; his second wife, Diane Holley in 2008; and his brother, Adam H. “Sonny” Holley, Jr. in 2008.

Survivors include his four children: Jonathan Holley and his wife Tammy, Rockmart, Suzanne Payne and her husband Michael, Cedartown, Dawn H. Austin and her husband Jeffrey, Rockmart and Gary Allan Holley and his wife Kerri, Rockmart; 10 grandchild­ren; 9 great grandchild­ren; and his caregiver Christie Gay.

Funeral services were held Thursday, May 11, 2017 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the Alvis Miller and Son Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Davis officiatin­g.

Interment followed in the Bellview Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearer­s included: Michael Worthingto­n, Scott Mears, Alan Dean, Gary Crane, Danny Bailey, Roy Lee Crumley, Kenneth Fuller and Howard “Snowball” Rogers.

The Alvis Miller and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangemen­ts for the funeral of Mr. Marion Olin Holley.
