Mrs. Robinson

Mrs. Mildred LeGrande Robinson, age 87, of Rockmart passed away Friday, June 2, 2017 in a Rome medical center.

She was born in Buchanan, on April 18, 1930 a daughter of Emory LeGrande and Doshie Weldon LeGrande.

Mrs. Robinson had lived the greater part of her life in Rockmart and had been a member of the Fairview Baptist Church for over 60 years.

She was very active in the church having taught Sunday School over 35 years and was a member of the church choir.

Mrs. Robinson worked in the retail community of Rockmart for many years and her last employment was a sales associate at the former Eddy's Shoes of Rockmart.

She enjoyed singing, spending time with her family and friends and shopping.

Mrs. Robinson was preceded in death by her parents, by a brother, Garland LeGrande and by a sister, Willie Mae Norton.

Survivors include her husband of over 63 years, Noble P. Robinson Jr. to whom she was married on Nov. 22, 1953; daughter, Rita Cummings (David); son, Anthony Robinson (Shani) all of Rockmart; five grandchildren: April Lanier (Brad), Kerri King (Chad), Abby Robinson, Madison Moss and Landon Williams; four great grandchildren: Dawson, Ansley, Briley and Avery; a number of nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services were held Sunday, June 4, 2017 at 3 p.m. in the chapel of the Alvis Miller and Son Funeral Home with Rev. Aaron Johnson, Rev. Larry Davis and Rev. Larry Ritch officiating.

Interment followed in the Rose Hill Cemetery.
