Mrs. Wilborn
Mrs. Evelyn G. Wilborn, age 78 of Rockmart, passed away Friday, June 9, 2017 at her home.
Mrs. Wilborn was born June 17, 1938 in Dawson County, daughter of the late J. D. Grant and the late Bonnie Collins Ledford.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Crossroads Memorial Baptist Church.
Mrs. Wilborn was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and greatgrandmother who enjoyed sewing and crocheting. She also loved to cook and work in her garden.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Grant; and two brothers, Glenn Grant and Marvin Grant.
Survivors included her husband of 61 years, Everett Ray Wilborn of Rockmart to whom she was married Jan. 12, 1956; four children, Kathy Wilborn Elliott and her husband Terry of Cartersville, Michael Wilborn of Rockmart, Diane Wilborn Dunkerton of Douglasville and Jimmy Wilborn and his wife Jennifer of Snellville; four grandchildren, Deric Houston and his wife Jamie of Dallas, Jamie Wilborn Hennings and her husband Steven of Powder Springs, Jessica Cropley and her husband Shawn of Hampton, Va., and Trevor Dunkerton of Douglasville; three great-grandchildren, Jillian Houston, Devin Houston and Riley Hennings.
Funeral services for Mrs. Wilborn were held on Sunday, June 11, 2017 at 3 p.m. in the chapel of the Freeman Harris Funeral Home with Rev. Dennis Brown officiating. Interment services followed in the family lot of the Yorkville Memorial Gardens.
The following gentlemen served as pallbearers: Deric Houston, Trevor Dunkerton, Doug Jones, Terry Elliott and Wally Norris.

Mrs. Muse
Mrs. Jean E. Muse, 85, of Cave Spring, died Friday afternoon, June 9, 2017, at her residence following an extended illness.
The former Jean Elizabeth Thompson, Mrs. Muse was born in Whitfield County, the daughter of the late Henry Lee Thompson and the late Lona Bell Sartin.
Although she was mainly a homemaker, Mrs. Muse had worked for the Krystal Company, Zartic and Hillard Farms. Mrs. Muse was a member of the Mountain View Baptist Church.
Mrs. Muse was married to Clarence Everett Shelton in 1947, and was preceded in death by him in February 1954. She was married to John W. Muse in June of 1956, and preceded in death by him in August 2009.
Besides her husbands and parents, she was also preceded in death by two infant sons, Stephen Jerome Muse and Wendell Terrence Muse; by her daughter, Mrs. Margaret Faye Shelton Pitts; by three brothers, Wayne Thompson, David Thompson, and Robert Thompson, and by 2 grandchildren.
Mrs. Muse is survived by four sons, Ronald Shelton and his wife Virginia of Cave Spring, Jeff Shelt on and his wife Marsha of Armuchee, John W. Muse Jr. of Silver Creek, and Richard Muse and his wife Betty of Cave Spring. 10 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, three brothers, H. L. Thompson, Roger Dale Thompson, and Merle Thompson, all of Chatsworth, and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Mrs. Muse will be held Sunday afternoon, June 11, 2017 at 4 p. m. at John House’s Cave Spring Chapel with Rev. Earl Partain Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in the family lot of the Mountain View Cemetery. Her grandsons served as pallbearers.

Mrs. Jones
Mrs. Jacqueline Marie “Jackie” Jones, age 64 of Rockmart, passed away Thursday, June 8, 2017.
Mrs. Jones was born Feb. 9, 1953 in Rockmart, daughter of the late Doyce Euzell Womack and the late Myrtice Chastain Womack.
She retired from the US Postal Service as a mail carrier with 23 years of service and was of the Baptist faith.
Mrs. Jones loved country and gospel music and could play several instruments, but best known for playing the spoons. She was a loving mother, grandmother and a giving person, choosing organ donation as her final gift.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Barry Womack.
Survivors included two daughters, Christy Mattox of Silver Creek and Kim Cox of Cedartown; son, Kevin Jones of Rockmart; two sisters, Patti Pruitt of Dacula and Judy Carpenter of Loganville; brother, Danny Womack of Rockmart; step- brother, Terry Brewer of New York; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Memorial services for Mrs. Jones were held on Sunday, June 11, 2017.

Mrs. Carter
Mrs. Gayle Carter, age 63, of Cedartown, passed away Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at her residence following several months of illness.
She was born in Atlanta, on June 10, 1953 a daughter of the late Howard Whitehill and Nellie Ruth Britt Whitehill.
Mrs. Carter had lived the greater part of her life in Polk County where she was a member of the Faith Missionary Baptist Church.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, shopping and traveling to the beach and taking trips to the mountains. She also loved her two dogs, Millie and Lala.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two sisters: Norma Jean Crew and Eleanor Morgan and a brother, Bud Whitehill.
Survivors include her husband, Randall Carter to whom she was married in July 1992; three children: Stephen Purser, Jeremiah Purser and Jennifer ( Anthony) Jester; two step sons: Jonathan Carter and Matthew Carter; four grandchildren: Anthony and Isiah Jester and Colton and Liam Purser all of Cedartown.
Funeral services were held Friday, June 9, 2017 at 4 p.m. in the chapel of the Smith and Miller Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Tucker officiating. Interment followed in the Northview Cemetery.
Pallbearers will include: Andrew Morgan, Greg Carter, Ricky Mathis, Mark Purser, Joel Clower and Barry Clower.

Mrs. Norton
Mrs. Lou Winnie Norton, 98, of Cave Spring, passed away Tuesday afternoon, June 6, 2017, in a Rome care facility following an extended illness.
Mrs. Norton was born in Floyd County May 17, 1919, a daughter of the late Arthur Owens and the late Carrie York Owens.
Mrs. Norton was married to Julian Norton on Dec. 28, 1940, and was preceded in death by him March 21, 1991.
Mrs. Norton was a homemaker and one of the best moms that could be asked for and was a member of the East Rome Baptist Church.
Besides her parents and husband, Mrs. Norton was preceded in death by four sisters, Mrs. Lillie Mae Terry, Mrs. Ruth Brooks, Mrs. Kate Wilson, and Mrs. Katherine Pledger; by a brother, Charlie Owens, and by her step son, Howard Norton.
Mrs. Norton is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Glenda Wheeler and her husband Jack of Cave Spring, and Mrs. Sue Lehman and her husband Jerry of Rome and by a daughter- in- law, Mrs. Estelle Norton of Pine Mountain. Four grandchildren, Brent Wheeler ( Russ Franklin) Scott Johnson (Tina), Kim Martin and Tina Mix- on; three step grand- children, Mike Norton, Rick Norton, and Mary Ann Hodnett, and three great-grandchildren, Ben Martin, Josh Johnson and Anna Johnson also survive.
Funeral services for Mrs. Norton were held Friday afternoon, June 9, 2017, at 3 p.m.. at John House’s Cave Spring Chapel with Pastor Edmond Dula and Rev. Ken Hinkley officiating. Mrs. Judy Mackey of Blue Ridge was the soloist.
Private interment followed in the Cave Spring Cemetery.
Pallbearers included Ben Martin, Joshua Johnson, Brent Wheeler, Russ Franklin, Craig Hulsey and Phil Wheeler.

Mrs. Garrett
Mrs. Bertha Lee Molock Garrett, age 90, of Austell, and formerly of Cedartown, passed away on Saturday, June 4, 2017.
At the age of 15, Mrs. Garrett went to work for Bell Aircraft, which would later become Lockheed Martin, helping to make B-29 bombers that would be influential in the outcome of World War II.
She went on to work at Western Union Telegraph Company, where she met her husband, Hugh, and they started a family together.
Mrs. Garrett loved to bowl and had been involved in a Women's League in Austell. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Mr. Hugh Durrell Garrett.
Mrs. Bertha Molock Garrett is survived locally by her sister in law, Helen Molock; nephews, Stephen Molock and Bobby West and a niece, Peggy Ward; Mrs. Garrett is survived by her son, Gordon "D" Garrett and his wife, Leigh; her grandson, Tony (Robin) Garrett; her granddaughters, Deidra Garrett (Brian), Sarah (Josh) Garrett and Laura- Beth Garrett; great grandchildren, Zach ( Brooke), Hannah (Matt)Jessie, Julia (Matt), Jake, Grant; great great grandchild, Cayden and sister in law, Fay Bellah. Other nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral service for Mrs. Bertha Lee Molock Garrett was conducted on Wednesday morning, June 7, 2017 at 11 a.m. from the Chapel of the White Columns Funeral Home in Mableton.
Interment followed in the North View Cemetery in Cedartown.

Mrs. Regenstein
Mrs. Marjorie Rebecca Terry Goodwin Regenstein, age 97 of Cedartown, passed away on Sunday, June 4, 2017.
She was born on April 20, 1920 in Cave Spring, the daughter of the late John P. and Minnie Lee Jones Terry.
Mrs. Regenstein is survived by her daughter, Harriett “Becky” Geldreich; grandchildren, John Geldreich, Scott Geldreich, Ame Lankford, Brad Geldreich and Becca Gonzalez and nine greatgrandchildren.
Mrs. Regenstein is preceded in death by her parents; first husband, John Goodwin, who was a chief of Police in Cedartown from 1945-1949 and a charter member of the Georgia State Patrol, and second husband, Joseph Regenstein.
The funeral arrangements for Mrs. Marjorie Regenstein were conducted on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at 1 p.m. in the chapel of the Gammage Funeral Home with Rev. Murry Edwards officiating. Interment followed in the Northview Cemetery.
The family has requested that flowers are to be omitted and donations can be made to the Georgia State Patrol Office, 3940 Aviation Cir NW, Atlanta, Ga., 30336.

Mr. Williams
Mr. Billy J. Williams, age 56, of Aragon, passed away Saturday, June 3, 2017 at his residence following an extended illness.
He was born in Rockmart on June 14, 1960 a son of Billy Marvin Williams and the late Dorothy Lee Brock Williams.
Mr. Williams had lived all of his life in Polk County, was of the Baptist faith and was a former employee of the Polk County Road Department.
He enjoyed dirt track racing and NASCAR racing. Mr. Williams loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Judy Baker Williams of Aragon to whom he was married on March 15, 1986; three children: Tyler Williams, Hot Springs, Ark., Kevin Head, Cartersville and Kitzi Ingram, Cedartown; four grandchildren: Amber Streetman, Morgan Scott, Otis Walker and Oliver Walker; two great grandchildren, Haven Streetman and Max Chavez; father, Billy Marvin Williams, Aragon; two sisters: Joyce Edwards, Aragon and Robbie Brown, Rome; brother, Jackie Williams, Twin City, Ga.; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
In keeping with his wishes Mr. Williams was cremated and there will be no services planned.

Mr. Johnson
Mr. Joseph H. Johnson Jr., 63, of Cedartown, died on May 22, 2017.
He was born on March 31, 1954 to Ms. Sarah Frances Jones of Georgia and Mr. Joseph H. Johnson of North Carolina.
He served for four years in the United States Army and rose to the rank of Sergeant.
Mr. Johnson is survived by his wife, Doris Johnson and their son Dr. Joseph H. Johnson III; daughter-in-law Jessica D. Johnson, and grand daughter, Carol Nadine Johnson; two sisters: Aundreia Peoples and Tammy Johnson; brother, Bobby Jones; aunt, Lillie Blakemore; cousin, Billy Phillips and a host of brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law nephews, nieces and other relatives and numerous friends.
In keeping with his wishes, Mr. Williams was cremated.
