The Polk County Commission will hold their next full meetings on July 10 and 11, at 5:15 p.m. on Monday for their work session and 7 p.m. on Tuesday for the regular session, Find agendas online close to the meeting date on Polkgeorgi­a.org, or call 770-749-2100 for more informatio­n. They meet monthly at the Board of Commission­ers meeting room at the Polk County Police Department, located at 73 Clines Ingram Jackson Road, Cedartown.

The Polk County Board of Education is set to meet for their upcoming combined session on July 11, 2017 at 6 p.m. in the Board of Education meeting room located at the Polk School District Central Office in downtown Cedartown at 612 S. A special session of the Polk County Board of Education allowing people to voice what they would like to see in a new Superinten­dent will be held on June 27, 2017 at the Polk County College and Career Academy Cedartown campus at 6 p.m. All those who wish to have public input will be allowed to speak. A Rockmart meeting was scheduled for June 20 on the campus of Georgia Northweste­rn Technical College on Brock Road for the same time.

The Cedartown City Commission meets for their work sessions on the first Monday of each month, and then for their regular session the following Monday at 6 p.m., unless otherwise noted. The Polk County Board of Elections were set to hold their next meeting on July 11 at the Elections and Registrati­on office at the Polk County administra­tion offices at 144 West Ave., Cedartown. Call 770-749-2103 for more informatio­n.

Residents in the area of Rockmart, Morgan Valley and Vincent Mountain should know about the potential changes to flood risk, which could change the cost of their insurance. A June 20 meeting is being held from 5 to 7 p.m. for residents to drop in for formation at the Polk County Emergency Management Office at 55 Cline Ingram Jackson Road, Cedartown, or visit www.georgiadfi­rm.com.
