Mrs. Shepard
Mrs. Flora “Emily” Carlton Shepard, age 96 of Aragon passed away Friday morning, June 30, 2017.
Mrs. Shepard was born Feb. 22, 1921 in Polk County and grew up in the Collard Valley Community, the daughter of the late Samuel Lamar Carlton and the late Lena Holland Carlton.
Mrs. Shepard was a homemaker and a member of the Aragon Baptist Church. She enjoyed sewing, embroidering, quilting and cooking, being best remembered for her cakes.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry N. Shepard on June 15, 2000; sister, Ruth Carlton Miller; and a brother, John Ed Carlton.
Survivors included a daughter, Elaine Thomas of Rome; son, Lamar Shepard of Rockmart; two grandchildren, Ryan Shepard and Heather Rainey; and six greatg r andchildren, Max Shepard, Anna Shepard, Presley Shepard, Emily Rainey, Aubrey Rainey and Ashton Rainey.
Funeral services for Mrs. Shepard were held on Monday, July 3, 2017 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the Freeman Harris Funeral Home with Rev. Ronnie Puckett officiating.
Interment services followed in the family lot of Rose Hill Cemetery.
The following gentlemen served as pallbearers: Ryan Shepard, Ken Rainey, Melvin Roberts, Reginald Smith, Larry Pittman and Kenneth Carlton.

Survivors included two sons, David Wolfe and his wife Grace of Acworth a n d J o e Wo l f e o f Rockmart; and two grandchildren, Shelby Chumley and August Wolfe.
Funeral services for Mrs. Wolfe were held on Sunday, July 2, 2017 at 4 p.m. in the chapel of the Freeman Harris Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Rice officiating.
Interment services followed in the family lot of Rose Hill Cemetery.
The following gentlemen served as pallbearers: Mitchell Mason, Tony Broome, Bobby Podskoc, Dewayne Yates, Thor Chumley and Zach Culver.
Honorary pallbearers were: Bobby Gurley, Donald Mintz and Bruce Albea.
