Timberland toughs out wet weather at Farmer’s Market

- SJ Correspondent

Rain is two things: good for crops; bad for business. Unfortunately, Thursday's farmers market was met with an onslaught of rain. While many farmers packed up their booths and left, Adriana Fincher of Timberland farm contested the rain and continued to sell her goods.

Demonstrated by Timberland was tenacious selling ability, but the farm's true commitment comes from their means of raising animals. The farm primarily serves beef, goat, and lamb, but all of Timberland's animals are hormone, antibiotic, and chemical free. It would be far easier for the farm to simply load their animals up with growth hormones and send them on their way, but by raising the animals naturally, Timberland is demonstrating their commitment to raising family safe meats.

Being hormone free is simply one part of Timberland farm's committed farming means. In order to control what their animals eat, the farm grows their own healthy, chemical free hay to supplement grazing.

This means Timberland animals are at tip top shape.

They grow naturally, they eat naturally, and they taste as naturally as possible. The best part is Timberland goods are affordable and patrons can expect to spend from $5$10.

Timberland Farms and other vendors can be located at Rockmart's Water St. every Thursday from 4-6p.m. To contact the farm with any questions feel free to call (770)823-8494.

Other events at the Farmers Market include cooking classes, and the Farmers Market website features recipes, a list of vendors, and a newsletter.
