Mrs. Joyce Cooper Sutton, age 71, of Rome, and formerly of Cedartown, peacefully slipped away from this life on Wednesday afternoon, July 5, 2017 to join God as one of his precious angels.

She was born on May 12, 1946 in Polk County the daughter of Quimby Dewight Cooper and Edna Ellis Cooper.

Mrs. Sutton graduated form Cedartown High School and attended Berry College, where she graduated Cum Laude with her BS in Education. Mrs. Sutton taught school in the Cedartown, Polk School District and in Bartow County.

She retired following 26 dedicated years. She was a member of t he First Baptist Church of Cedartown.

She was preceded in death by her father, Quimby Dewight Cooper; her mother, Edna Ellis Cooper and a daughter, Dominque Parris McKibben.

Joyce Cooper Sutton is survived by her husband, James E. Sutton; her daughter and son in law, Miranda Parris Cordle and Scott; her sister and brother in law, Dorothy and Terry Harkins; her son in law, Donnie McKibben; four grandchild­ren, Zach Mckibben, Logan Cordle, Bronson Cordle and Megan Cordle and great grandchild­ren, Aria, Adilyn and Averie Jane McKibben. Other relatives also survive.

The Funeral Service for Mrs. Joyce Cooper Sutton were conducted on Sunday, July 9, 2017 at 2 p.m. from the Chapel of the Lester C. Litesey Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Benefield officiatin­g.

Interment followed on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at 1 p.m. in the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton.

The family received friends on Saturday evening, July 8, 2017 at the Lester C. Litesey Funeral Home.
