The Polk County Commission will hold their next full meetings on Aug. 7 and Aug. 8, at 5:15 p.m. on Monday for their work session and 7 p.m. on Tuesday for the regular session, Find agendas online close to the meeting date on Polkgeorgia.org, or call 770-749-2100 for more information. They meet monthly at the Board of Commissioners meeting room at the Polk County Police Department, located at 73 Clines Ingram Jackson Road, Cedartown.
The Polk County Board of Education is set to meet for their upcoming work and community input session on Aug. 1, 2017 at 6 p.m. in the Board of Education meeting room located at the Polk School District Central Office in downtown Cedartown at 612 S. College St. The regular meeting will be held on Aug. 8, 2017. The Cedartown City Commission meets for their work sessions on the first Monday of each month, and then for their regular session the following Monday at 6 p.m., unless otherwise noted. Check out Cedartowngeorgia.gov to find agendas for upcoming meetings set for the Aug. 7 and Aug. 14 sessions.

Qualifying for upcoming municipal elections is being held Aug. 21 through Aug. 25 for seats in Aragon, Rockmart and Cedartown. Each city sets their own guidelines within their city charter for becoming a candidate, and qualifying fees apply.
