Rome man jailed on fishing trip
MARATHON, Fla. — A Rome man is out on $30,000 bond after Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission officers arrested him and six Alabama friends on felony charges of spearing more than 200 undersized lobsters.
The men also face 600 misdemeanor counts in connection with their fishing expedition in the Florida Keys.
A court date had not been set Wednesday for Jeffrey Barket Meide, 44, of 5B Hummingbird Place.
