Local man thanks community for prayers

To the community:

Thank you very much for all your prayers, phone calls, cards, letters and food sent to me and my wonderful family during my time of sickness.

Dozens of prayer lines were activated, dozens of churches prayed, dozens of cards were sent, hundreds of phone calls were made and social media was amazing.

This adventure has been uncharted waters for me since I have always been (with the family) in waiting rooms during illness of their loved ones. Thanks to Bethel ( Crossroads) Baptist Church of Taylorsville for their understanding during this time.

Thanks to all the preachers who filled my pulpit during my absence.

Remember - visit us at Bethel, watch our TV program each Sunday night at 9 p.m. on Charter TV channel 181 or Bartow County four times every day on channel 24.

I am so thankful for the seven we have been able to see accept Jesus as their Savior during this time.

Again, I thank everyone for thinking of me and I want to especially thank my family and my beautiful, loving, caring wife GLENDA - may God bless each of you.

Local youth: please help the Humane Society

Editor's Note: I wasn't sure where to include this particular item in the paper this week, which sometimes happens when someone brings along an item or sends it in and it doesn’t fit in a particular category. So I decided it best fit here. We extend our congratulations to nine- year- old Breyer Bradshaw for his winning the Build a Better World essay contest at the Cedartown Public Library as part of its Summer Reading Program. He's a student at Youngs Grove Elementary School, and his grandmother Teresa Buttram dropped this by for us to include. We have corrected some spelling errors in this letter. - K.M.

Polk is the worst place to find stray animals. They can be found in dumpsters and alleys. I found my puppy, Lady, in the pasture with her brother. I and another girl adopted this beautiful black and tan. Some people need to stop this!

A beautiful 3 acres of land was donated by Kimoto Tech to have our own place to spay and neuter. We all need to work with the Cedartown-Polk County Humane Society to build on this property. Please donate now at P. O. Box 1334, Cedartown, Ga., 30125.
