Mr. Thompson

Mr. Max Eugene Thompson, age 83, of Cedartown, passed away on Tuesday afternoon, Aug. 8, 2017.

Mr. Thompson was born on March 15, 1934 in Douglas County, the son of William A. Thompson and Flora Brewer Thompson.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by five brothers and sisters.

Mr. Thompson was a United States Veteran where he proudly served in the U. S. Army.

Prior to his retirement, he had a successful career in the constructi­on business, where he worked as a Supervisor with Carter DeGolian.

He was a dedicated and active member of the Lime Branch Baptist Church, where he was also a member of the Adult Men's Sunday School Class and Builders for Christ.

Mr. Thompson is survived by his loving and devoted wife of sixty years, Barbara McMichan Thompson; his sons, Stephen A. Thompson and Rebecca, Craig V. Thompson and Lisa and John A. Thompson and Heather; his daughter, Vicki Thompson Collins and Jim; twelve grandchild­ren and one great grandchild.

A number of nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral Services for Mr. Max Eugene Thompson were conducted on Saturday morning, Aug. 12, 2017 at 11 a.m. from the Lime Branch Baptist Church with Rev. Thomas Cole, Rev. Tommy McGuire and Rev. Brian Crisp officiatin­g.

Interment followed in the Lime Branch Cemetery with full military honors conducted by the Brewster Cleland Post 86 Honor Guard.

Mr. Thompsons grandsons served as pallbearer­s.
