Chick-fil-A set to open on Thursday
The week has already been a busy one for the ne w Chick- f il - A in Rockmart, as owner Zach Thomas has been hosting breakfasts, lunches and dinners for community leaders, local pastors and more already.
Thomas said that he expects a packed house and parking lot for the openi ng, and already has plans in mind for how to handle the coming guests.
“We’ve already worked out an arrangement for traffic control help from the Rockmart Police Department,” he said.
Ch i c k - f i l - A’s ne w Rockmart store officially opens at 6 a.m. on Thursday.
Today will be just as busy with a lineup starting for the First 100 customers contestants camp- ing out for the opportunity to win Chick-fil-A for a year (see this story online on Tuesday for contest rules and more,) and t hey’ll have to s t ay through until Thursday morning in order to win the prize.

Though Chick-fil-A has been hosting a number of private events in the lead- up to the restaurant’s grand opening on Thursday morning, a ribbon cutting ceremony will be held for all to enjoy.
On Monday, the restaurant held a dedication ceremony for the restaurant’s playground. Tuesday saw pastors come for a prayer breakfast, and dinner for employees and their family which was moved to Crossview Community Church due to the potential for wet weather caused by the remnants of Hurricane Irma.
Construction on the new store wrapped up late in August, and hiring began during the late summer months to staff the new store in Rockmart.
Located off Nathan Dean Parkway, the new store has driveway entrances off the eastbound lanes, and one drive connecting the restaurant to Floyd Primary Care’s office at the intersection with Highway 113.
Store hours are regularly 6 a. m. to 10 p. m. Mondays through Saturdays. All Chick-fil-A restaurants are closed on Sundays.
