Pine Bower Baptist will have their annual Community Fall Festival on Saturday from 5 until 8 p.m. There will be a Chili Cook Off, hayride, carnival games, a cake-walk, and a Trunk-O-Treat. Hot Dog Plates will be available for a donation. Pastor Roger Kiser invites everyone.

Anna Kresge United Methodist Church, 15 Booger Hollow Road, Cedartown, will be having a trunk or treat event on Sunday. The family event will be from 5 to 7 p.m. and will feature candy, games, and hot dogs. All children are encouraged to wear their costumes and to bring a friend.

Fairview Baptist Church in Rockmart, will be having their Fall Revival from Nov. 5-8. The Rev. Barry Snapp from Victory Baptist Church will be preaching. Service will begin at 6 p.m. on Sunday evening and at 7 p.m. Monday through Wednesday evening. Everyone is invited to come and worship with the church.

Cedar Spring Missionary Baptist Church is holding their 150th anniversary celebration in Cedartown on Nov. 12. Pastor James Wright will be providing the message. Come join the church for services on Sunday mornings anytime at their church at 126 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Cedartown.

On Nov. 1, Tallatoona CAP will begin accepting appointments for the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program for Senior Households 65 and older and Homebound Households. Appointments for the General Public will be accepted beginning Dec. 1. Appointments are provided on a first come first served basis until funds are exhausted. Polk County residents who qualify will receive either $310 or $350 toward their heating bill (heating source). Join Live Oak Baptist Church at 150 Live Oak Road, Aragon, for their annual Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Packing Party coming up on Nov. 3 at 6 p.m., being held in the church fellowship hall. Pastor Anthony Osborn invites everyone to come help. Only volunteers are needed, all supplies are provided, and a pizza supper will be included. The goal is to pack 950 boxes.

The first Aragon Chili Cook-off is coming up on Nov. 4 at Tom Pittman Field, located at 105 Prospect Road. Enter your best chili or to sign up as a vendor call Jess at 770896-1165 or visit Aragon City Hall to fill out a form and pay a $10 setup fee. A cash prize of $100 goes to the Judge’s Choice chili, with a trophy for People’s Choice and Showmanship. Gates open at 11 a.m. on Nov. 4.

The Cedartown First United Methodist Church, 201 Wissahickon Ave., Cedartown, is holding a free Fall Festival and Trunk-or-Treat event on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m.

The next West Georgia Spay/Neuter Clinic is coming to the Cedartown-Polk County Humane Society on Nov. 8. Head over to the organization’s office at 608 Adamson Road, Cedartown, on Fridays from 4 to 7 p.m. or Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. to fill out an admission and prepay for the surgery. The Bellview Baptist Church Fall Festival is coming up on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. Games, inflatables, hayrides, candy, popcorn and more. The festival is free. The church is located at 2333 N. Bellview Road, Rockmart.

Homecoming services are being held at First Baptist Church of Cedartown on Sunday at 11 a.m., with guest speaker Jon Anderson. Lunch to follow in the Bob Holcombe Family Life Center. All are invited.

The first ever Trunk or Treat event is coming up at the Polk County Police Department, located at 73 Clines Ingram Jackson Road in Cedartown on Oct. 31 at 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Come join the fun at the department while officers hand out candy from the trunks of their police cruisers.

The First Baptist Church of Cedartown is holding a church Trunk or Treat on Oct. 31 at 5 p.m. in the church parking lot. The event is open to the public.

A raffle will be held today to draw for the winner of a custom made knife and sheath produced by Alex Hazell of Hazel Bladesmithing and Forge. Those interested in participating can purchase tickets for $5 each, or 5 for $20 at facebook.com/ hazellforge.
