Better to give than to receive is a motto for many during the holidays, and the county’s local businesses have something for any shopper looking to put a smile on a loved one’s face.

The options are vast, but each store has at least one specific item that has been selling well as a gift or would make an excellent gift.

Cedartown’s Holmes for Men, 235 S. Main St., is selling items that could please any sharp dresser on Christmas morning, but the store’s “Peach State Pride” hats seem to be the popular gift for locals. For $29.99 each, the hats come in a variety of colors and designs.

Holmes is open on Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. through 5:30 pm. And 9 a.m. through 12 p.m. on Wednesdays.

Rockmart’s Now and Then, located at 106 E. Church St., is filled to the brim with potential gifts, but owners Bobbie Fuller and Tina Lanier have suggestions for holiday shoppers looking through the store’s collection of antiques.

“For younger people, we have the locally made jewelry and bracelets,” Fuller said. “We have imported dough bowls, decorations, and more for older people.”

Now and Then is open from 10 a. m. through 6 p.m. on Monday through Saturday and 1 through 4 p.m. on Sunday.

Cedartown’s Southern Charmed Boutique is selling gifts in the form of cotton decorations. A trending decoration, the plant is filling homes in the form of stalks, birches, and much more.

“My cotton is what’s selling right now,” owner Wylene Worthy said.

Cedartown’s f l orist and gifts, located at 302 N. Main St., is offering Christmas gifts in the form of flowers. While maybe hard to wrap, waking up to fresh flowers on Dec. 25 would be a unique present for any friend or family member.

“There are fresh flowers of all kinds,” owner Shirley Bussey said. “We have Poinsettias and gift items- just a variety.”

Bussey’s is open from 8 : 3 0 a. m. t hrough 5 p.m. every day Monday through Saturday.

Rockmart’s Discount Mall, located at 124 S. Marble St., is selling numerous items that could work as gifts, but the store’s purses seem to be a popular choice for individuals. Varying in price, the store offers brand name purses and handbags that could please female loved ones. Those interested in other local shopping should give downtown Rockmart and Cedartown a visit where other stores may have the perfect gift for your needs.
