Wing fans should consider Rockmart for wide variety

- By Sean Williams

Rockmart is quickly becoming the wings capital of Polk County with almost too many restaurants to grab a plate of sauce-dipped chicken wings.

With new flavors and new cooking methods being implemented constantly, the overall wing meta-game is increasing within city limits, and the culture behind the food is prospering.

Whether you like them hot or mild, any self-respecting wing connoisseur should consider paying a visit to the following stores:

Hometown Pizza and Grill, located at 246 W. Elm St., sports primarily Italian food like pizzas and calzones, but the joint’s wings are a staple on the menu.

Available with or without bones, patrons can grab their wings in hot, mild, teriyaki, lemon pepper, garlic Parmesan, sweet red chili, sweet and spicy, ranch, and more. Prices vary depending on quantity, but those with an insatiable hunger can dine on all-you-can-eat wings for $11.99.

Hometown lets customers switch flavors in between plates, but like the other restaurants on this list, the all-you-can-eat deal applies only to the boned wings. Unique to Hometown is the restaurant’s hot flavor which includes special seasonings that make a flavor unobtainable anywhere else in the city.

Pizza Depot, located at 406 N. Piedmont Ave., has worked to revolutionize the city’s wings in a unique way.

Like Hometown, wings are available boned or boneless and in flavors such as hot, mild, insane, teriyaki, sweet red chili, and more, but the store permits customers to mix flavors.

The $11.99 all-you-can-eat wings offered means customers have access to wings in as many different flavors and combinations of flavors as their stomach can hold.

Also notable is that the $11.99 deal comes with unlimited fries at no extra cost.

Knuckleheads, located at 217 W. Elm St., offers to cook wings in multiple ways.

The store offers flavors such as hot, tangy barbecue, teriyaki, mild, burnout, and more prepared traditionally or fried and house smoked. While Knuckleheads features a small flavor variety, finding another restaurant that offers wings cooked in 3 different fashions is a task in itself.

Wings can be purchased in a variety of quantities and prices, but the store offers all- you- can- eat wings for $9.99 every Thursday.

These restaurants are considered the holy-trinity wings, and customers wishing to see why wing fans are found at these restaurants so often should visit Rockmart.
