- By Tyler Williams SJ Correspondent

Artists from around Polk County including Rockmart, Cedartown, Aragon, or any those who live close to participate in the Second annual art gala. Come show off your artistic abilities whether is building bird houses or jewelry making or painting on canvas come share the art you love to make and give the opportunity to share your passion and sell it to a viewer who will treasure it.

At the Gala there will be snacks and wine to accompany the viewers while you browse through the art for sale and discuss things with other artists or to those who appreciate art.

There will be a 15$ donation at the door that goes to not only to keep the art gala running but also goes towards the children’s camp that is held in july where the kids will spend more than a entire week learning vocal skills arts and crafts, learn an entire play, and other activities for ages 13 and under for 75$ a child.

Cedartown Performing Arts Center Executive Director Oscar Guzman encourages any artist to sign up to the Gala at Cedartownshows.com. To be clear that this is a free public sign up open to Anyone who wants to share their artwork or have it up for display to sell.

“Last year was a tremendous success and was a huge turnout for the artist who came,” said Guzman, “we was Lucky enough to break even and make 6 thousand dollar for the kids camp our first year only.”

Artists from Cedartown and surrounding areas will again have an opportunity to be recognized and present their original creative endeavors during “A Night of Local Artists” Gala at the Cedartown Performing Arts Center. The CPAC is actively seeking interested artisans to participate in the first annual event which will be an evening of art, live jazz music from local artists Greg Robbins, and wine.

The Gala will be held Saturday, March 10th, at 7 PM in the Auditorium Skellenger Gallery and will be open to the public until there is no one left to serve drinks. This is not a juried competition and artists will be able to display and sell their work and accepted commissions from interested patrons. There is no registration fee. We hope to hold an auction to raise funds for the CCAC Children’s Enrichment Fund.
