Polk County gets Puppy Bowl ‘Tailgate Party in a Box’ event

-

The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) and Animal Planet selected Polk County Animal Shelter as one of only 200 nationwide shelters to receive a Puppy Bowl “Tailgate Party in a Box.” The event helped promote adoptions and increase awareness by parodying “Big Game,” and various Most Valuable Pets (MVPs) were given a spotlight during the event.

Selected animals were awarded reduced adoption fees and special gift packages. MVP cats were available for $5; MVP dogs were available for $20.

The discount is over, but animal lovers can still adopt at regular rates by visiting the shelter at Cedartown’s 1215 Veal. St. The facility is open from 10 a.m. through 4:30 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday, 10 a.m. through 5:30 p. m. on Wednesday, 12 p.m. through 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, 10 a.m. through 4:30 p.m. on Friday, and 1 p.m. through 4 p.m. on Saturday.

Patrons will be required to provide proof of spay or neuter and rabies vaccination as ageappropriate.
