- By Sean Williams

Want to see something fun but also help a good cause?

Those who want to help — especially animal lovers — are in luck because GG’s Boutique and Salon is prepping for their “Fashions Fur Friends” fashion show and luncheon on Saturday, March 17 beginning at 12 p.m. at Cherokee Golf and Country Club at 150 Club Dr, Cedartown.

Advanced tickets can be purchased for $20 by visiting GG’s at 620B Jeffrey Lane, Rockmart or by calling Joanne Burke (706)777-8249.

Patrons will get to watch their favorite four-legged animals take to the catwalk in a collection of outfits and accessories, and all proceeds will benefit the Polk County Humane Society and their efforts to protect animals.

“Models will take to the catwalk in this years spring collection of high styled ensembles from Tribal, Mudpie, Hue, Easel, Erin London, and more. Each model will be accessorized with stunning accent pieces from jewelry and scarves to purses and shoes,” organizer Cory Huskins said. “Models are Joanne Burke, Norma Debo, Nancy Gunn, Beth Hitchcock, Joan Hunt, Jan Isbell, Lee Lane, Andrea McKelvey, and Robin Ragsdale. Guest Models are “Dudley” a Standard Poodle and “Holly” a Bichon. Both are Kellie Taylor’s, Owner of Precious Paws.”

The luncheon will begin at approximately noon, and the actual show is slated to begin at 1 p.m. March 17 will mark the show’s second rendition, and there’s no sign of the event being discontinued anytime soon.

“I am excited to host our second charity fashion show and luncheon. It’s a wonderful opportunity to support our fourlegged friends and Cedartown Polk County Humane Society. They are needed and appreciated in our county. We greatly appreciate our sponsors Precious Paws, Auto Zone, Mike Hunter Travel Planners and Cherokee Golf & CC. The latter is one of the few venues that could accommodate our event,” GG’s owner Ginger Sanford said.

The Polk County Humane Society, 1215 Veal St., Cedartown, works to rescue and prepare animals for adoption.

For now, those who are interested in adopting an animal lo- cally can do so at Polk County Animal Control. Dogs can be adopted for $40; Cats can be adopted for $25. More information on the shelter can be found at https://www.facebook.com/polkcountygaanimalcontrol/. Additional animal rescue groups can also adopt out pets as well.

GG’s Boutique and Salon is a full-service hair salon. The business offers facial waxing, microdermabrasion, Botox, Juvederm, and b12. Other items include Mirabella Cosmetics, Lindsay Phillips shoes, Brighton Jewelry, scarves and bags by Spartina, Tyler and 1803 candles.
