Fire destroys residence, 3 trailers

A residence on Lovvorn Road was destroyed by flames late last Thursday morning as Polk County firefighters responded to a full-on blaze that smoldered into the afternoon in the Cedartown area.

Polk County Public Safe- ty Director Randy Lacey said that a trio of trailers bundled together along with a built-on addition were destroyed after firefighters were called out to put out the flames at 311 Lovvorn Road on March 8 around 11 a.m.

Lacey said that no injuries were reported.

Firefighters are using caution on the scene and were winding down their operations in the afternoon due to the heavy smoke from the fire and windy conditions.

Lacey said further investigation would be required to determine the cause.
