RHS theater presents ‘Charlie Brown’
The Rockmart thespians returned to their hometown stage with a student-directed performance of “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown” that matched the enthusiasm of the performer’s numerous other acts this year.
Under the guidance of directors Ethan Gober and Alli Streetman, the cast and crew originally performed at the student-led one-act competition, and while no official winners were decided, Isaac Gober ultimately took home the Best Actor Award with his performance of Linus Van Pelt.
“Working with my friends in this way has just been super fun, and at the end of the day, that’s the reason we’re all here,” Ethan said of the cast. “I’m really proud of them.”
“It’s definitely helped me become better in my own acting ability to see what its like on the other side of it,” Streetman said.
Other performers include Branson Lewis as Charlie Brown, Anna Snider as Lucy Van Pelt, Rob Laltrello as Schroeder, Daisy Trim as Sally Brown, Daphne Trim as Snoopy, Sadie Jacobs as Little Red-Haired Girl, Chloe Green as Woodstock, Sierra Post as Patty, Hanna Aiken as Frieda, and Riley Miller as Pig Pin.
“You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown” proceeds last year’s studentled one-act, “A View From a Bridge” that also produced a best actor recipient in the form of Evan Clay.
Created by Clark Gesner, the musical follows classic Peanuts characters and many adventures, but Charlie Brown’s quest to find out what makes him a ‘good man’ is the focus of the story. Thanks from the thespians are owed to the City of Cedartown and the Rockmart Cultural Arts Center for their assistance in helping make the production happen as well.
