The next spaghetti dinner at American Legion Post 12 will be held this Wednesday, March 21. Come enjoy an all- youcan-eat meal of spaghetti, meatballs, garlic toast and salad for $5. Dinner is served from 5 to 7 p.m. Find the Rockmart post at 1 Veterans Circle off West Elm Street.

This week, the Internatio­nal Missionary Society in Cedartown are hosting a three-day event featuring a trio of guest speakers from the Caribbean islands. They’ll be speaking on a theme from Revelation­s 14:6-12, and include Pastor Teófilo Palacios on Thursday at 7 p.m., Elder Moses Avellaneda on Friday at 7 p.m. and Pastor Luis Alvarado on Sunday starting at 6:20 p.m. All are welcome to attend at the Internatio­nal Missionary Society Seventh- Day- Adventist Church, Reform Movement at 625 West Ave., Cedartown. Pre-K and Kindergart­en registrati­on for children in the Cherokee, Northside Westside and Youngs Grove Elementary areas is taking place at the Polk School District central office today and Thursday, March 21 and 22, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., and 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. Documentat­ion, hearing, vision and dental certificat­es, plus immunizati­ons and more are required. This weekend, Yorkville Baptist Church is holding a barbecue fundraiser to help raise money for the congregati­on to use in ministries and the building fund. Come take part in the church’s Boston butt BBQ sale from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Includes barbecue, coleslaw and beans. $8 for adults, $4 for children per plate. Join the Cedartown Junior Service League for their annual Easter Egg Hunt in Peek Park on Sunday, March 25 from 2 to 4 p.m. Children ages 0-12 are invited to participat­e for the free event. Areas will be divided off by age for local youth. Photos with the Easter Bunny and other activities will be available as well.

Pleasant Hill Baptist Church at 844 Pleasant Hill Road, Rockmart, will be hosting a “Donation Hobo Supper” on Saturday, April 7 from 5 to 7:30 p.m. in the church fellowship hall. Menu consists of assorted beans, fried potatoes, slaw, cornbread, assorted desserts and a variety of beverages. Proceeds will go to the church building fund.

Registrati­on is open now for the Rockmart Cultural Arts Commission’s summer camps. The first for grades K-5 will feature “Winnie the Pooh” on June 6 through June 15, followed by a camp for grades 6-12 for “Bye, Bye, Birdie” on June 18 through June 29. Keep Polk Beautiful is gathering this Saturday, March 24 to spruce up the area along the Silver Comet Trail. Come take part in the clean-up starting at 9 a.m. at the Cedartown Welcome Center and Depot or at Rockmart’s Seaborn Jones Park for the two hour event. The clean-up is being held in honor of Joe Anderson, who helped organize the efforts to build the trail. Trash bags, gloves water and snacks will be provided to volunteers. Rockmart First United Methodist Church invites the community to come out and join in worship on Sundays and Wednesdays at the church located at 135 W. Church St. Sunday morning worship begins with Bible study at 9:45 a.m., followed by Sunday school at 10 a.m. for all ages, and an 11 a.m. worship service. Easter activities are coming up at Anna Kresge Memorial United Methodist Church at the end of March. Hop in for their Brunch with the Bunny on Saturday, March 24 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., which includes breakfast, bunny pictures and fun games for the community to enjoy. They’ll follow that on Sunday, March 25 with the Palm Sunday service starting at 10:55 a.m., a Maundy Thursday live reenactmen­t of the Lord’s Last Supper starting at 7 p.m. on March 29, a Good Friday Service at 7 p.m. on March 30 and Easter morning sunrise services at 7 a.m., followed by their regular Easter service at 10:55 a.m. All are invited to join in worship at the church at 15 Booger Hollow Road, Cedartown.

The next West Georgia Spay/Neuter Clinic is coming to the Cedartown-Polk County Humane Society this Wednesday, March 28 Head over to the organizati­on’s office at 608 Adamson Road, Cedartown, on Fridays from 4 to 7 p.m. or Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. to fill out an admission and prepay for the surgery. The Good Neighbor Center Food Bank in Cedartown is looking for volunteers to help once a week on Monday’s from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. or Wednesdays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old and will help with event tasks such as registerin­g recipients, preparing food boxes and stocking shelves.
