Annual Stocks family meal coming up on Nov. 17

The Stocks family is back for their 10th year of helping the community and making sure that no one goes without at least one serving of turkey and dressing during the holiday season, and maybe even make the year brighter for a family.

Rockmart’s Nathan Dean Community Center on Goodyear Avenue is once again playing host for the forthcoming event, scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 17 during the midday hours. Floreace Stocks, who annually helps organize the family-run event, said the event will continue on so long as there is food to last.

Additionally, the family wishes to continue handing out coats to those in need, and having presents available for children in attendance as well.

Donations are being accepted for coats, food and even presents for the family to hand out during the upcoming Thanksgiving meal happening the weekend ahead of the holiday.

Stocks said any help that anyone would like to give in putting together the event, or with the God’s Loving Angels program, would be appreciated. Those interested in lending their assistance can reach her at 678-719-1981.

Stocks, who is also part of the God’s Loving Angels organization, said that group will be also taking part in an upcoming holiday donation to Rockmart Health, the post-acute nursing and rehabilitation facility in early December.
