- By Sean Williams swilliams1799@yahoo.com

Locals still have time to take part in the various October events being scheduled at Polk’s local libraries, and whether you need a book, a computer, or simply something fun to do, the Cedartown and Rockmart library branches you have you covered.

This week, citizens can take part in a story time session on Tuesday, Oct. 22 at 11 a.m., a computer class on Thursday, Oct. 24 at 10 a.m., and a sit and stitch session on Friday, Oct. 25 beginning at 12 p.m.

All of the events are free to attend, and sign-ups for activities such as the computer class can be found by visiting the library at 245 East Ave, Cedartown. Some activities have limited space, so those interested are urged to sign up sooner rather than later.

Alongside the usual activities, locals can also look forward to the library’s book sale taking place next week. Books from dozens of different genres and types will be on sale for as low as 25 cents, and profits will benefit the library and their efforts to provide resources to the community. Those interested in shopping can visit the library during their regulars hours from Oct. 19 through Oct. 26.

Members of the Friends of the Library Group can visit earlier on Oct. 18, and those from non-profit organizations can visit one extra time on Oct. 28.

Those interested in checking out a book or movie or using the internet can visit from 9 a.m. through 6 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, 9 a.m. through 5 p.m. on Friday, and 9 a.m. through 4 p.m. on Saturday. The book sale will also run during these hours from

The Cedartown Library also has various resources such as quiet study areas and meeting rooms, and for those in need of technology, there are computers, printers, fax machines, and more. Additional information about the library and it’s events can be found by visiting http://cedartown.shrls.org/.
