Tracking UGA football’s new signees

The early signing period starts Dec. 15, and many high school football players are signing to play at Georgia. To stay updated on the new Bulldogs, The Red & Black has compiled a list of players who have signed to Georgia:

Cole Speer, wide receiver

Speer, from Calhoun, Georgia, is another three-star receiver to join the Bulldogs’ 2022 recruiting class. The three-sport athlete committed to Georgia on Aug. 12, and is ranked as the No. 61 receiver in the nation, according to 247 Sports.

Brett Thorson, punter

Thorson, from Melbourne, Australia, became the first player to sign for the Bulldogs. He is a three-star player, and the top recruit in Australia, according to 247 Sports. Thorson committed to Georgia on March 31 and will enroll in January.

Mykel Williams, defensive line

Williams is a four-star defensive lineman out of Columbus, Georgia. The Hardaway high school player is the No. 32 player in the 2022 recruiting class, according to 247 Sports. Williams flipped his commitment from Southern California to the Bulldogs on Oct. 20.

Jalon Walker, linebacker

Walker officially signed with Georgia after committing to the Bulldogs on Mar. 28. The four-star linebacker from Salisbury, North Carolina, is the No. 3 linebacker in the nation coming out of high school, according to 247 Sports.

Oscar Delp, tight end

Delp, the No. 1 tight end in the nation, out of Cumming, Georgia, signed with Georgia after the Bulldogs secured his commitment on Oct. 13. The four-star tight end is the No. 42 player in the 2022 recruiting class, according to 247 Sports.

Griffin Scroggs, offensive line

Scroggs, from Loganville, Georgia, is a three-star offensive lineman. The Grayson high school native committed to the Bulldogs on Aug. 3 and is the No. 65 interior offensive line recruit, according to 247 Sports.

Gunner Stockton, quarterbac­k

Stockton comes in as the No. 7 quarterbac­k in the 2022 class, according to 247 Sports. The Tiger, Georgia native is a four-star and has now signed with the Bulldogs after committing on June 4. Stockton is the lone quarterbac­k of this year’s signing class thus far.

CJ Smith, wide receiver

Smith signed with the Bulldogs the day after he officially committed to Georgia. The three-star wide receiver out of Orlando, Florida, decommitte­d from the Florida

Gators on Dec. 9, and comes to Athens, Georgia as the No. 64 receiver in the 2022 class, according to 247 Sports.

Malaki Starks, athlete Starks, an athlete out of Jefferson, Georgia, is the highest rated recruit to sign with the Bulldogs so far. Coming in as a five-star, Starks is rated as the No. 4 overall player in the country and the No. 1 athlete, according to 247 Sports. The recruit chose Georgia over the likes of Alabama, Auburn, Clemson and many more.

Branson Robinson, running back

Robinson, Georgia’s lone recruit from the Magnolia state, is a four-star running back according to 247 Sports. The ball carrier is rated as the No. 9 running back in the 2022 recruiting class. Robinson was also heavily recruited by Alabama and Mississipp­i State.

JaCorey Thomas, defensive back

Thomas, an Orlando, Florida, native is a four-star defensive back and the No. 23 safety in the 2022 class, according to 247 Sports. The Boone high school player visited Miami before committing to Georgia on June 25.

Jacob Hood, offensive line

Hood, an offensive tackle out of Nashville, is a threestar, according to 247 Sports. Standing at 6-foot-8, 342 pounds, Hood is ranked as the No. 55 offensive tackle in the 2022 class. He visited both Miami and Auburn before signing his talents to the Bulldogs.

CJ Washington, linebacker

Washington is another fourstar linebacker that Georgia is adding to its 2022 class from Cedartown, Georgia. The No. 7 linebacker in the 2022 class committed to the Bulldogs back on July 22, 2020 after receiving offers

from the likes of LSU and Ole Miss, according to 247 Sports.

Bear Alexander, defensive line

Alexander, a four-star defensive lineman out of Bradenton, Florida, chose the Bulldogs over Alabama and Texas A&M. The 6-foot-3, 325 pound IMG Academy player is the No. 13 defensive line recruit in the 2022 class, according to 247 Sports.

Jaheim Singletary, defensive back

Singletary, out of Jacksonvil­le, Florida, slots in as another four-star in Georgia’s 2022 class. According to 247 Sports, Singletary is the No. 58 overall player and the No. 7 cornerback in the class. The defensive back committed to Georgia after decommitti­ng from Ohio State earlier this fall.

CJ Madden, linebacker

Madden comes in as the No. 13 edge rusher in the country, according to 247 Sports. The four-star recruit out of Ellenwood, Georgia, sits at 6-foot-3, 239 pounds. Madden played high school football at Cedar Grove.

Drew Bobo, offensive line

Bobo, the son of former Georgia and Auburn offensive coordinato­r Mike Bobo, committed to the Bulldogs after his dad was fired from Auburn. Bobo is rated as a three-star offensive tackle, according to 247 Sports, and is ranked as the No. 98 offensive tackle in the country.

De’Nylon Morrissett­e, wide receiver

Morrissett­e, out of North Cobb high school in Kennesaw, Georgia, slots in as yet another wide receiver signing for the Bulldogs. The 6-foot-1, 200 pound wideout is rated as a fourstar and ranks as the No. 32 wide receiver in the country, according to 247 Sports.

Julian Humphrey, defensive back

Humphrey, a four-star from Houston, adds to Georgia’s arsenal of defensive backs in the class of 2022. He stands at 6-foot-1, 185 pounds, and is ranked the No. 13 cornerback in the country, according to 247 Sports. He received offers from 33 schools, including Florida, Alabama and Arkansas.

Aliou Bah, offensive line

The three-star IMG Academy product is Georgia’s fourth offensive line signee of the day and is ranked as the No. 39 overall offensive tackle in the country, according to 247 sports. At 6-foot-5, 325 pounds, Bah chose Georgia over fellow SEC rivals Arkansas and Alabama and adds to a growing list of talented linemen.

Daylen Everette, defensive back

Everette, a four-star recruit out of Bradenton, Florida, becomes yet another Georgia signee from IMG Academy. The cornerback stands at 6-foot-1, 185 pounds and is ranked as the No. 3 cornerback in the country, according to 247 Sports. Everette signs with the Bulldogs after decommitti­ng from Clemson on Dec. 10.

Shone Washington, defensive lineman

Washington, a 6-foot-3, 297 pound defensive lineman from New Orleans, is Georgia’s 22nd signee of the day. According to 247Sports, he is a three-star recruit, and ranked the No. 72 defensive lineman in the nation. He visited Florida on Dec. 10, but chose Georgia over 17 other offers.
