Local residents receive diplomas, earn honors at Jacksonvil­le State

Jacksonvil­le State University in Alabama recently announced several local residents were awarded degrees as part of its spring 2023 commenceme­nt ceremony, as well as those who were named to the school’s spring 2023 President’s List and Dean’s List.

More than 900 students were awarded degrees as part of Jacksonvil­le State University’s Spring 2023 commenceme­nt on April 29, including the following local residents:

Dylan M. Bailey of Aragon, Courtney S. Brown of Rockmart, Megan D. Coalson of Cedartown, Eva G. Earwood of Rockmart, Mikayla G. Longshore of Cedartown, Alison M. McCleskey of Rockmart, Brenton M. Minor of Rockmart, and Megan M. Sims of Rockmart,

Nancy Grace, famed victims’ rights advocate and television legal analyst, was awarded an honorary doctorate and served as keynote speaker. T

More than 1,000 students were named to the President’s List at Jacksonvil­le State University for their outstandin­g academic performanc­e in spring 2023. To be named to the President’s List, students must earn a perfect 4.0 GPA for the semester while completing at least 12 hours of GPA course credit.

Among those who earned this honor are Christophe­r C. Frye of Cedartown, William E. Hughes of Cedartown, Haley Alexis Forrister of Cedartown, Emmaleigh Carter of Cedartown, Megan D. Coalson of Cedartown, Alison M. McCleskey of Rockmart, Eisley L. Pope of Rockmart, Sarah E. Frasier of Rockmart, Parker James Crawford of Rockmart, Gabrielle Lauren Fuller of Rockmart, Kyleigh B. Bowman of Rockmart, and Mackenzie E. Fleming of Rockmart.

performanc­e at Jacksonvil­le State University in spring 2023. To be named to the Dean’s List, students must earn a 3.5-3.99 GPA for the semester while completing at least 12 GPA hours of course credit.
