Two face distribution charges in drug bust
A slew of drugs were found inside a vehicle — including cocaine, fentanyl and crystal methamphetamine — following a motor vehicle stop by police on Friday, authorities say.
Elias Dawley, 26, of Greenfield, N.H., and 35year-old Brittany Kaeppel, of Putnam, Conn., face several drug distribution charges following the traffic stop on Andover Street, according to a Tewksbury Police Department press release.
Police said they stopped the vehicle for a traffic violation in the area of 1795 Andover St. According to police, further investigation led to the discovery of 36.6 grams of cocaine, 6.4 grams of fentanyl, 6.9 grams of crystal meth, as well as unspecified quantities of LSD, ecstasy, clonidine and suboxone.
Police charged both Dawley and Kaeppel with trafficking a Class B substance over 36 grams (cocaine), possession with intent to distrubute a Class A substance (fentanyl), possession with intent to distribute a Class B substance (meth), two counts of possession with intent to distribute a Class B substance (suboxone), possession with intent to distribute a Class C Brittany substance Kaeppel ( ecstasy), possession with intent to distribute a Class C substance (LSD), possession with intent to distribute a Class E substance (clonidine) and conspiracy to violate drug laws.
Dawley was additionally charged with possession of a counterfeit note, according to police.
Elias was held without bail, while Kaeppel was held on $2,500 cash bail. Both are scheduled to be arraigned in Lowell District Court today.
