Pop-up book sale in Nashua

The Friends of the Nashua Public Library will hold its last Pop-up Book Sale of the year Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., on the Library Plaza.

The rain date is Oct. 10. The sale is cash only and masks are required. The Friends have still been accepting book, CD, and DVD donations and have a huge inventory.

This pop-up will have a smaller sampling than the annual sales held in March, but will include adult fiction and select nonfiction, children’s books, recently published books, DVDS, games, puzzles and gifts. For more information, call 603-888-3298 and ask for Judy.

Town forming Tree Management Workgroup

Town Manager Robert Pontbriand and the Department of Public

Works are working together to develop and implement a Tree Management Plan for the community.

The group will be known as the Ayer Tree Management Workgroup and be responsible for developing the scope of the plan, coming up with a five-year tree management budget, educating the public on the benefits of tree management and providing assistance in completing the plan.

The plan itself considers the diversity, distribution, and general condition of the trees noted by the town and provides a system that can manage said trees.

Following the plan requires taking inventory of trees, stumps, and planting sites along the street, along with analyzing tree inventory data.

The town expects the workgroup to have its first meeting remotely in midOctober and have follow-up meetings every month.
