‘Rock’ solid for Biden

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has officially endorsed former Vice President Joe Biden and Sen. Kamala Harris, his first time publicly backing a political candidate.

The actor, who said he has “friends in all parties,” posted a virtual conversati­on between himself and the Democratic candidates, in which he compliment­ed Biden’s “great compassion, heart, drive and soul” and called Harris “a certified badass.”

“As a political independen­t and centrist for many years, I’ve voted for Democrats in the past as well as Republican,” Johnson captioned the video. “In this critical election, I believe Joe Biden and Kamala Harris are the best to lead our country and as my first ever (public) presidenti­al endorsemen­t, I proudly endorse them for the presidenti­al office of our United States.”

Shepard Smith returns to TV

Two weeks shy of a year after abruptly quitting Fox News Channel with a declaratio­n that “truth will always matter,” Shepard Smith returns to television this week at his unexpected new home.

He begins a general interest nightly newscast Wednesday, at 7 p.m., on the financial network CNBC, putting him back in the time slot he loved before Fox moved him to the afternoon seven years ago.

“We’re going to come out and do just the news,” he said. “We’re not planning to do any analysis in our news hour. We’re going to have journalist­s, reporters, sound and video. We’re going to have newsmakers and experts ... but no pundits. We’re going to leave the opinion to others. It’s exactly what I’ve been wanting to do. It’s what I’ve been working at for 30 years.”

BTS has new album out in November

K-pop stars BTS will release their fifth full-length album, “BE (Deluxe Edition),” on Nov. 20, the band’s label, Big Hit Entertainm­ent, said Sunday.

BTS contribute­d to the album’s concept, compositio­n and design so it “contains the most ‘BTS’ music,” read the announceme­nt. “It is an album that conveys consolatio­n to fans and the world, starting with the story of BTS. ... I hope you discover the traces of BTS’ thoughts, emotions and worries throughout the album while also experienci­ng a richer musical spectrum.”
