LC students inducted, earn book awards
Lowell Catholic held its National Honor Society Induction Ceremony and Scholarship Award night on Sept. 23. Typically occurring in the spring, the event recognizing students’ achievements in scholarship, leadership, character and service was pushed back to follow all safety standards.
Book Awards were presented in person, individually and socially distanced over the summer by a team of administrators and guidance counselors. The scholarship recipients are as follows:

Lowell Catholic also boasts several subject-specific honors societies. Among them are Mu Alpha Theta, the math honor society, which welcomed 18 new members; the National Art Honor Society, which welcomed eight new members; the Spanish, French and Latin language honor societies, which collectively welcomed 29 new members; and the Science National Honor Societ, which welcomed 19 new members.
In addition to the high-school students who were recognized, new members of the National Junior Honor Society were inducted on Sept. 30. These are students who qualified for membership during the 20192020 school year.
Students are eligible for induction into NJHS beginning in sixth grade if they meet the NJHS criteria of character, leadership, service, scholarship and citizenship.
