JDCU debuts Winstrong Savings Account

-

Jeanne D’arc Credit Union is launching a unique new savings program, the Winstrong Savings Account, available for Massachusetts residents beginning Saturday.

With the Winstrong account, for each additional $25 you increase your savings balance each month, you’ll be entered once into monthly, quarterly and annual prize drawings, up to four entries per month. Prizes include five $50 monthly prizes, two $500 quarterly prizes and one $5,000 annual prize.

The Credit Union hopes that Winstrong accounts will incentivize those who may not normally be savers to think about, and possibly change, their savings habits.

“We want to encourage members to save money and help them develop good budgeting habits while bringing a little engagement and excitement to the process,” said Mark Cochran, President and CEO of Jeanne D’arc Credit Union. “Members will have the satisfaction of watching their money grow and experience the thrill of the prize drawings.”

Groton town officials staying remote through January

With Gov. Charlie Baker reducing capacity limits for businesses and organizations throughout Massachusetts, town officials are following suit for the safety of its residents.

Groton Town Manager Mark Haddad announced Monday that town employees will be working remotely through Jan. 11.

This means employees will not be at Town Hall or the Groton Public Library and no appointments or programs will be taking place at either location.

Town Hall employees will still be attempting to assist residents through emails and phone calls, with residents also still being able to make payments through the building’s drop box.

The Groton Public Library will also still be offering curbside pick-ups for those making orders online.
