I too am a veteran; John Macdonald is wrong
To John Macdonald’s letter to the editor, I believe it necessary to respond in a wholehearted manner.
President Trump denigrated every veteran by the things he has said about our most esteemed veterans. Heroes who died in the service of of our country he called “losers” and
“suckers.” Of John Mccain, a true American hero Mr. Trump said: “l like people who don’t get caught better.” General Jim Mattis was shamelessly denigrated.
The list goes on and on.
What disgraceful utterances about veterans. I hardly believe this is taking care of our veterans and question how any veteran can support him.
Under former President
Trump’s watch COVID deaths are more than many of our wars.
If Mr. Macdonald had a loved one die from COVID in a wretched manner (as I did) he may not view any part of COVID as hysteria.
Yet Trump stood by and watched this national nightmare unfold before every American’s eye.
Golf is not the answer when a pandemic is killing thousands of Americans each day
I resent that having my student loans forgiven would be considered “free stuff.”
I used my student loans to pursue a teaching degree.
Others serve their nation after college in a myriad of service-related occupations.
It’s far from “free money.” Service is more “than building tall skyscrapers.”
I’m sorry so many veterans believe this demagogue’s rhetoric uttered over five years.
He trampled the U.S. Constitution which he promised to uphold.
Hopefully President Biden will repair our standing in the world, and restore our nation’s collective morals Trump tried to ruin.
