got hurt and that’s when Will Kenny joined us. The two of us had chemistry from before, playing together when we were younger, mostly in middle school. The three of us always work well together. We always know where we are on the ice and we always produce. I feel like we’re one of the best lines in the entire league.”

Glencross practiced with the program a few times as an eight grader. As a freshman, he joined a senior-laden team that included his brother, Tim.

“Tim was a third line grinder. He wasn’t anything flashy, but he would do the simple things. He would break the puck out great —

honestly, I thought he was very good at that. He got a hat trick one game (against Oakmont),” said Nate.

The brothers learned how to skate on a pond next to their house. Their father, Bill, who played growing up, did what most fathers do when they teach their kid how to skate.

“I had a milk crate and I would skate around. Basically ever since I could walk, I’ve been on skates,” said Nate.

The brothers did everything together with the game of hockey, between the pond days, the youth hockey days and the fun times playing on the streets.

“A lot of brothers are known for fighting, but we never fought growing up. We’re not the fighting type. We always got along. We would play street hockey together. I would be the goalie and he would shoot on me and I would

start crying or something, but we just have a great relationship,” said Nate.

All those days of hard work have certainly paid off for Nate.

“Being a four-year varsity player, he’s the best one I’ve had in my six years here and there’s no doubts in my mind on that,” said Mccann. “The contributions that he’s been able to make from his freshman year to his senior year, and the positions that you can put him in.

“He’s been quarterbacking the power play since his freshman year. He’s the last line of defense on the power play and that’s a spot that you want to leave to someone you have total trust and belief in to handle the puck and make smart decisions, and that’s been him for four years. He’s just the most complete all-around player that we’ve had since I have been here.”
