Local player looking to add Tyngsboro CNEBA team

Chris Ausiello, an infielder at Worcester State University, is looking to bring semi-pro baseball back to the Lowell area in the Central New England Baseball Associatio­n (CNEBA).

He’s hoping to base a team out of Tyngsboro.

The unlimited age, wood bat league has existed for at least 50 years and represents a merger of the old Eastern Mass. League and what was known 20-plus years ago as the Bay State League.

The 2020 pandemic-shortened season ended with eight teams, including teams in Auburn, Clinton, Fitchburg, Lunenburg, Worcester, Oxford, Shrewsbury and Littleton.
