Six students earn monthly honors

Chelmsford » Chelmsford High School has announced its November Students of the Month.

Hawthorne House

: Gayathri Mantha, daughter of Srinivas and Jyothi Mantha, is a true representa­tive of the type of well-rounded student that CHS seeks to produce. She is enrolled in Advanced Placement AP English & Compositio­n, Research, Psychology and Calculus. She is a highhonors student who has been inducted into the National Honor Society, National English Honor Society and Tri-m Music Honor Society. She has received the Rotary Youth Leadership award and Excellence in Science award, and is a National Commended Merit Scholar.

Gayathri plays flute for the Concert and Marching bands, has performed at Carnegie Hall and has been a vital member of two gold-medal bands. She is also an award-winning set designer for the Theater Guild. She founded the Civic Action Club and Period@chelmsford, which provides menstrual kits for women at a local soup kitchen. She has also served as a group facilitato­r for Rotary Youth Leadership. She plans to major in Sociology on a Pre-med track, and may work as a doctor in rural areas.

: Aidan Hennessey, son of John and Kristi Hennessey, is enrolled in Advanced Placement classes in Literature & Compositio­n, Seminar, Computer Science, Physics and Psychology. He is a National Merit Finalist with Distinctio­n, and has received the Excellence in Mathematic­s and Excellence in Business awards, Most Worthy Representa­tive award and a PRIDE award. He has been inducted into the National Honor Society and National English Honor Society. He has also taken math courses through the Harvard University Extension School for the past two years.

Aidan competes for the cross-country, indoor track and spring track teams, and was named the MVP and a Merrimack Valley Conference All-conference selected for cross-country for three straight years. He is a freshman mentor, a peer tutor and captain of the Math team. He also volunteers with the TOPS Outreach program for soccer. He plans to major in

Whittier House

: Jacqueline Rigazio, daughter of Ronald and Laura Rigazio, is taking Advanced Placement classes in Literature & Compositio­n and Psychology, and has been inducted into the National Honor Society, National English Honor Society and National Spanish Honor Society. She has also earned high-honors all four years.

Jacqueline is secretary of the Class of 2021, a class representa­tive, a freshman mentor, a member of the Yearbook Club, captain of the Dance team and an anchor on “Lions Live.” She hopes to purse a degree in English.

: Luke Abraham, son of Sohan and Romana Abraham, is enrolled in Advanced Placement Calculus, Environmen­tal Science and Psychology, and is a member of the National Honor Society and Science National Honor Society in addition to earning honor-roll status for all terms at CHS. He is a class representa­tive, a freshman mentor, and a member of the Interact Club and Rotary Youth Leadership.

Luke competes for the swim, cross-country and spring track teams. He is treasurer of the Class of 2021 and has volunteere­d at CHS blood drives and as a swim instructor. He hopes to pursue a career in the sciences, specifical­ly in biology, biomedical engineerin­g or environmen­tal science.
