Is hatred of Trump driving Biden’s immigration policy?

- Peter Lucas Columnist

This is Joe Biden’s Children’s Crusade.

Hopefully, it will end better than its namesake — the gathering of some 20,000 European children and adolescents who, responding to religious calls, set out for the

Holy Land around 1212, crossing borders along the way.

Unlike Biden’s 20,000 Central and South American children of 2021, who answered Biden’s call to set out for the United States, those children never got to Jerusalem, their goal. Depending mainly on charity many of these caravans of young French and German travelers died of hunger crossing the Italian Alps or were later captured and sold into slavery. Few returned. None saw Jerusalem.

The children of Biden’s Children’s Crusade have fared much better, thanks to the generosity of the American people, although an unknown number of young girls have been raped along the way. No doubt some have died or been killed.

This time, though, the horror inflicted upon them was not by medieval thugs lurking along the highways, but by organized gangs of Mexican terrorists and traffickers. These Mexican gangster cartels enslave them too, economically, when they are not busy dropping toddlers off walls or throwing them into the Rio Grande.

Civilization has not changed that much in a thousand years, has it?

Maybe Biden, who opened the borders, should provide the travelers with security as they make their way up from Honduras to El Paso, the way the Knights Templar once did for pilgrims to the Holy Land.

No matter how Biden and his enablers spin it, this human disaster on the Mexican border is on Biden, the Pied Piper of illegal immigration, who beckons illegal immigrant children to the border. He opened the floodgates, and the America people are paying the price. When there is no law there is no order, and anything goes.

Biden is a modern version of those medieval religious zealots who preached happiness and fulfillment to the poor children of Europe. All they had to do was get to Jerusalem.

In Biden’s case, politics replaces religion. Biden is a political zealot who also promises happiness and fulfillment — the American Dream — for these immigrant children and adolescents once they arrive in America.

The tradeoff is their understanding that he, the dear leader of the Democratic Party, and his Democratic administration (forget the taxpayer), can make this happen. It is Biden and the Democrats who provide the newcomers with safety, shelter, food, medicine, education, the English language, a new home, and some walking around money.

How can these newcomers to America, as well as their parents or guardians waiting for them, not be grateful and not become Democrats?

And while some hard-core killers, child rapists, general sex offenders, drug dealers, and MS-13 gang members cross the open borders with them, well, Biden considers that as acceptable collateral damage.

After all, he early on in his administration halted the deportation of criminal illegal immigrants, who are only committing crimes that Americans won’t commit.

Biden may be feeling some heat, though, over his reckless and self-induced crisis. While America is a welcoming nation of immigrants, Biden’s rollback of Trump’s orderly immigration policy — from halting construction of the wall to suspension of his remain-in-mexico policy, and everything in between, has been a disaster.

“I can say quite clearly don’t come over,” Biden said during his recent interview with Dem propagandist George Stephanopoulos. But it is too late for that. Immigrants listened closely to his earlier remarks when he said, “We’re a nation that’s says, ‘You want to flee, and you’re fleeing oppression, you should come.’” And so, they did.

It is difficult to understand how Biden and his advisers could be so surprised — and so unprepared — to deal with the border chaos and fallout from his thrashing and reversal of Trump’s immigration policies.

It is not as though he was new to Washington, having been in government for almost 50 years, first as a U.S. senator and then as Barack Obama’s vice president for eight years.

And he had repeatedly campaigned on the issue for months, promising to reverse Trump’s stricter, but orderly, border policies.

Yet, he plowed ahead with one Executive Order after another tearing apart — instead of building upon — everything at the border that Trump put together that was working. He had no plan.

Maybe it was just Trump hate. Or maybe Biden is just lost, sadly incompetent, and doing what he is told.
