DRACUT - Theresa S. “Mimi” (Dacosta) Dias, 80, of Dracut, passed away unexpected­ly on Sunday, February 19, 2023 at Lowell General Hospital. She was the widow of the late Valquirio D. ‘Val’ Dias, with whom she celebrated 44 years of marriage before he passed away in 2009.

She was born in Lowell on June 12, 1942 and was a daughter of the late Antonio and the late Rose (Silva) Dacosta. She was educated in the Lowell area, graduating from Lowell

High School with the Class of 1960.

Theresa was a longtime Lowell resident and enjoyed staying active in the community. She was a communican­t of St. Michael’s Church and St. Anthony’s Church, life member of the Holy Ghost Society, member of the Lowell Senior Center and Brown Bag (Blue’s Club). She worked as a telephone operator with New England Telephone/ AT&T for over 25 years before her retirement and was an active member of the IBEW Local 2321 Retirees.

Terry loved sports, especially any sport her grandchild­ren were playing, always rooting for them. She enjoyed going out to eat with her family or her Amigas at the Reds Club. Although she was involved in many organizati­ons and enjoyed spending time with friends, knitting and crocheting, she valued her family more than anything. Being a mother and grandmothe­r and spending time with her family making memories brought her the greatest joy.

She is survived by her son, Anthony P. Dias of Lowell; her two daughters, Lisa A. Quadros and her husband, David of Hudson, NH, and Susan M. Allard and her husband, Michael of Dracut; her grandchild­ren, Anthony P. Dias Jr. and Matthew V. Dias both of Lowell, Nicole M. Quadros and Alex D. Quadros of Hudson, NH, and Brittany M. Silva, Rachel R. Silva, Kyle E. Silva, and Jessica Allard, and her grand dog, Duke, all of Dracut.

She is also survived by her brother, Anthony P. Dacosta and his wife, Mary Gail of Hudson,

NH; her sister in law, Lina Melo of Lowell; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildre­n and friends.

She was predecease­d by her in-laws, the late Manuel Dias, the late Jose Dias, the late Joao Dias, and the late Mary Sousa.

On Friday, February 24, 2023 all are welcome to attend her calling hours from 3-7 p.m. at Mcdonough Funeral Home, 14 Highland Street, Lowell 978-458-6816. Her funeral will begin on Saturday morning at 9 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by her funeral mass at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony Church, 893 Central Street, Lowell.
